In the USA, there is no federal law for bestiality ie no federal law preventing humans having sex with animals. This is similar to some other countries. 

 

While the majority of states have made bestiality illegal, there are a few who still have no such law.

 

This needs to be tightened up on a federal level. Sexually abusing animals is despicable.

 

Petition Facts

- In states where there are laws against bestiality, the punishment still varies widely. 
 
- Some states treat this as a minor offence, a misdemeanour and in others it is as it should be, a serious offence, a felony. 

​

- The only way to ensure it is a serious offence, a felony, across all states is to ensure that anti-bestiality laws are consistent across all states by making it a federal law. 

 

- Animals involved in this heinous crime are often stolen family pets and repeatedly raped then killed.

 

- In a civilised society we should be setting the standards and not lagging behind other countries.
