Protect Ducks from Cruelty: Demand Restaurant Stop Serving Foie Gras
Target: Chef Brian Howard, Owner, Sparrow + Wolf, Las Vegas, Nevada
Goal: Demand a responsible and compassionate menu that does not include foie gras, which promotes the torture of innocent animals.
Protests have been taking place outside of a Las Vegas restaurant that serves foie gras—an inhumane “dish” created by inflicting torture on a duck. Ducks are force-fed through a tube for days at a time, sometimes up to two weeks. Their livers are made to swell to ten times the normal size and are then removed for human consumption.
Multiple protests have taken place outside the restaraunt in question, Sparrow + Wolf. Advocates are encouraging people to embrace a plant-based diet, standing for the rights of all sentient beings not to be treated as property and holding signs with messages such as, “It’s not food, it’s violence.” Sign below to echo these sentiments of justice and compassion, and to demand that foie gras be removed from this restaurant’s menu.
Dear Chef Howard,
Animal rights advocates have been rightfully protesting outside of your restaurant doors, and I urge you to hear them. By serving foie gras at Sparrow + Wolf, you are complicit in what is unarguably torture of innocent ducks.
Foie gras involves force-feeding ducks through a tube, sometimes for weeks. When the liver has swollen to as much as ten times its natural size, the organ is torn away to be served as a “delicacy.” No palette or profit justifies this type of abuse. Please ensure that foie gras is no longer served at Sparrow + Wolf.
