In 1993, Ethical Wares embarked on a journey to revolutionize conscious consumerism, starting with just two styles of vegan shoes – the imaginatively named Green Boot and Black Boot. Little did they know that this modest beginning would blossom into a thriving enterprise, now offering over 500 vegan and cruelty-free products.

As the years passed, Ethical Wares witnessed many non-leather footwear companies come and go, but their unwavering commitment to ethical principles kept them steadfast. Today, they take pride in providing compassionate consumers with a wide array of choices, empowering them to make a positive impact with every purchase.

Behind the scenes, Ethical Wares meticulously sources products that not only meet their vegan standards but also prioritize worker-friendly practices. They have cultivated long-standing relationships with footwear manufacturers who share their values, and whenever possible, they support the UK footwear industry, which has been deeply impacted by cheap imports.

Ethical Wares' philosophy extends beyond animal welfare; they recognize that the struggle for a better world encompasses both animal and human rights. This ethos is reflected in their fair trade accessories, which support marginalized communities, and their commitment to the Tibetan refugee community through their dedicated Tibet Shop, offering incense, handicrafts, and music.

Music holds a special place in the hearts of Ethical Wares, as they believe in its power to inspire social and political change. This passion led them to create the "Music for a Better World" section, exclusively featuring vegan or vegetarian musicians, and later expanded into the Four Dogs Music site, celebrating a wider range of conscious artists.

The income generated by Ethical Wares funds the care of the 50 animals residing at Caegwyn, a motley crew of goats, sheep, pigs, horses, cats, dogs, rabbits, and the beloved Aunt Dotty the cow. This sanctuary serves as a testament to their unwavering dedication to compassionate living.
